Ilyo Voyvoda Center for Adults with Physical Disabilities – known to the public as a social health centre for disabled people with physical ailments from the districts of Kyustendil, Pernik and Sofia.

The Centre was opened as a home for the aged in 1896 under the proposal of the Standing District Committee in Kyustendil. The administration of the church Saint Mina gave one of the buildings in the church yard. Funds need for the support were allocated from the budget of Kyustendil District, of Kyustendil municipality and from the citizens as donations. After 9th September 1944 the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs undertook the organization, management and support. It provided medical services from a doctor. Since 1959 it was renamed to a Centre for Disabled People with Physical Ailments and was supported by the Town People’s Council of Kyustendil. The number of beds was increased to 45. In 1965 the construction of a new centre was started in the north east part of the town. It was opened on 4th February 1971 and the number of beds was 101. 45 people domiciled in the old disabled people centre wre accommodated here. Domiciled are provided with every day doctor care, remedial gym, physiotherapeutic procedures. They avail of a special study room, a beautiful park. Healthy diet, labour therapy, cultural and educational activities are practiced there
